The challenge

Steeping Tales is a premium Indian tea brand selling across Europe. After a promising start, growth had plateaued. Established names like TeeGeschwendner and Adagio Teas on one side, premium Indian export brands on the other — Steeping Tales was squeezed in the middle with genuine product quality and a compelling origin story, but no clear Instagram identity to translate that into engagement.

The brief: design and execute an Instagram campaign that would cut through the noise, generate real engagement, and lay the foundation for a distinct brand identity in the European market.

Understanding the audience

Values wellness, culture, and family traditions. Shops online but frustrated by inauthentic brands and hidden costs. Wants quality, accessible luxury, and products that feel meaningful rather than transactional.

💡 Competitive gap identified: Direct competitors focused on variety and convenience. The opportunity was cultural depth — emotional storytelling rooted in Indian tea heritage. That's where Steeping Tales could own something genuinely distinctive.

The strategy

We positioned the campaign around a single central idea: "We don't just sell tea — we create rituals of mindful luxury and connection." Every post was designed to make the audience feel something, not just learn something.

Three content types, each with a distinct purpose, tied together with a 20% promotional offer (code: STEEP20) to give every post a clear conversion hook alongside the brand-building content: a mood-based carousel, an educational single image, and an emotional quote post designed to maximise saves and shares.

Likes and shares met or exceeded KPIs across all three posts. The carousel was the standout — 31 shares from a single post validates mood-based storytelling as Steeping Tales' sharpest tool for organic reach.

💡 Key learning: Shareability and conversation require different creative strategies. Emotional content gets shared. Conversational content needs a direct invitation — a question or prompt that explicitly asks for a response.

What this taught us

Learning 01

Mood-based content travels

The carousel's 31 shares shows that content helping people understand themselves gets shared. It wasn't about the product — it was about the person.

Learning 02

Specificity builds credibility

"Champagne of Teas" positioned Steeping Tales as knowledgeable, not just decorative. Confident, specific product claims build a different kind of trust than lifestyle imagery alone.

Learning 03

Organic reach has a ceiling

Content quality alone can't replace reach mechanics. Reels, hashtag strategy, and influencer collaborations are the accelerants that move organic accounts beyond their immediate network.

Learning 04

Promotion + storytelling is the right combination

The 20% offer gave every post a conversion path without undermining the brand feel. Promotional content doesn't have to feel promotional — framing matters more than the offer itself.
